He had a passion for tinkering and rarely met a machine he couldn’t repair.ĭarrell was the friend and neighbor who was always there with whatever was needed and he donated his time and resources to many organizations. They had four children, Deane Leroy, Jodi Sue, Carmen Lynne, and Dale Thomas.ĭarrell was a lifelong farmer in the Elwood area and in earlier years had worked the night shift at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for a short time. He married Lola Mae Lubben on Easter Sunday, Apin Maquoketa, Iowa. Army with the Army Military Police in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, earning on honorable discharge. He was a graduate of Elwood High School, attended Iowa State University for one year, and served his country in the U.S. Darrell Lee Cain, 86, of Elwood, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.ĭarrell was born on Septemin Maquoketa, Iowa, to Roy and Ruth (Geronzin) Cain.
